NEW CHATHAM COUNTY BUSINESS EXPO
The Chatham County United Chamber of Commerce announces a new and improved Business Expo for 2007. Chamber President, Jody Minor commented, “Community and vendor feedback led us to revamp the event. Last year we didn’t do the best job of advertising the event to the community and didn’t have a clear focus. We’ve changed everything from the name, the hours and the in-expo events to better appeal to Chatham County residents and in turn, our local businesses. This year, our objective is to link business with the community for the benefit of both.” Chatham Business Expo Mr. Minor continued, “We want to promote the notion that residents should be more aware of the importance of “shopping locally”. We know from research that $.66 of every dollar spent by Chatham citizens is spent outside the county (1). That has an obvious adverse impact on businesses, but also on tax revenues that are needed to provide infrastructure and social services for everyone in the county. We want to do all we can to promote buying locally. This Expo is intended to introduce our residents to the many Chatham businesses that are ready to serve them, right here.” To make the event more interesting to the public, a host of special activities are slated throughout the day, including:
